Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Roll & Tell (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Roll & Tell ("we", "us", "our").

Description of Service

Roll & Tell is an offline interactive mathematics education application. It provides:

• Bite-size lessons on probability and statistics
• Interactive simulators (coin flip, dice roll, probability wheel, lottery balls, card draws, birthday paradox, Monte Carlo estimation)
• A statistics formula reference with inline calculators
• A 40-term probability and statistics glossary
• A Sandbox tool for building and saving custom random experiments locally
• A Daily Probability Insight with an optional local reminder notification

All content is bundled with the App and available without an internet connection. No account registration is required.

Eligibility

The App is rated Teen on Google Play and 17+ on the Apple App Store. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you are under the required age, you may only use the App with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

Educational Content Disclaimer

This section is important. Please read it carefully.

The lessons, simulators, formula reference, and all other content in Roll & Tell are provided for educational and informational purposes only.

• Roll & Tell is not a gambling platform. It does not facilitate any wager, bet, or game of chance involving real or virtual currency.
• The App does not promote, endorse, or affiliate with any gambling operator, casino, lottery organization, or betting service.
• Some lessons use gambling-derived examples (dice odds, card combinatorics, lottery expected value, house edge) as mathematical illustrations — in the same way a statistics textbook might. These examples are presented within an explicit cautionary and analytical frame.
• Lessons that discuss house edge or lottery expected value are presented as mathematical analysis showing why, over time, the math systematically favors the operator. They are not strategy guides and should not be read as encouragement to gamble.
• Nothing in the App constitutes financial advice, gambling advice, or a recommendation to engage in any form of wagering.
• The simulators in the App are mathematical demonstrations. They generate outcomes using pseudorandom number generation for educational illustration only — they are not games of chance.

Permitted Use and Restrictions

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App for your personal, non-commercial, educational purposes.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it
• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute the App's content (lessons, illustrations, formulas, or code) without written permission
• Scrape, data-mine, or extract content from the App by automated means
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or these Terms
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices contained in the App

Intellectual Property

All content within Roll & Tell — including but not limited to lesson text, simulator logic, illustrations, custom-painted charts, formula displays, fonts, and the underlying source code — is owned by or licensed to Roll & Tell. All rights are reserved. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence described above.

Open-source components included in the App are governed by their respective licences, which are available within the App's acknowledgements.

User-Generated Content

The Sandbox feature allows you to create and save custom random experiment configurations on your device. These configurations are stored locally and are never transmitted to us. We make no claim of ownership over any Sandbox experiments or configurations you create. You are free to delete this data at any time by clearing app data in your device settings or uninstalling the App.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of inaccuracies. While we take care to ensure the educational content is correct, mathematical and statistical material may contain errors. The App is a learning tool, not a definitive academic or professional reference.

The App does not constitute financial, legal, or gambling advice of any kind.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Roll & Tell shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which, if the App was downloaded free of charge, is zero).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Roll & Tell and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, through an in-app notice or an updated app-store description). Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We may discontinue distribution of the App or cease providing updates at any time and for any reason, without prior notice. Any licences granted under these Terms terminate automatically if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will survive.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App is offered, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
